SUN on Monday!

Indeed, the sun finally broke through for some of yesterday, and we enjoyed it for all it was worth! It was a great first full day, although some of the kids (and staff, too!) were more than ready for bed by the end of the day. The choir was able to read all the way through the psalm setting, looked at the Mag and Nunc, responses, and more. All this, plus a little fun on the soccer field, two chapel services, and some great meals. This is worth mentioning: the BOYS on 3rd floor MacKay had the cleanest room of everyone, and were thus awarded the first trip to the tuck shop after rehearsal in the afternoon. So much for the reputation of boys not knowing how to be neat! Now we challenge the girls to catch up!

7 DAYS TO GO (plus water bottles!)

It's getting closer!!! Don't forget, when you register, there will be a chance to purchase Choir School CDs from last year's Evensong service at the Cathedral ($10 each) and also the incredible, fantastic, simply stupendous, outrageously amazing, out-of-this-world Choir School water bottle!!! The photo on the left says it all (because.. it's a picture of a Choir School water bottle). These sell for $3 each, which is itself an amazing value. Enjoy!!!!

Resurrection... of sorts

It has been far, far, far, far, far too long since the last posting. I guess that's what I (and you) get when a clergyperson looks after something like a blog: regular postings are sometimes few and far (and I mean FAR) between. However, all is not lost. This is my quick way of announcing that a new, overhauled web site for Choir School will be up and running by the end of tomorrow (Wed., May 7th)!!! It will have all the up-to-date information regarding Choir School 2008, as we know it at this time. Many young folks have applied for staff positions, and interviews will be held in the next 2 weeks. There is information on applications, contacts, and plans for this year. Also, see the pict from our recent Choral Evensong service at St. Luke's, in Saint John, from APril 20th. A wonderful evening indeed!

Happy Easter!

I sit at the computer here, wondering when the last time was that two church services were cancelled in Holy Week due to SNOW!!!! That's been the case this week for me here in Richmond. But it is still the time coming towards Easter, and so I send Happy Easter wishes to everyone at Choir School (I'd love to send you each one of those cool cards that play a little tune when you open them, but sorry... no time!). April also means that Choir School is getting closer, and it's been great to get some emails from many of you; keep them coming.

I hope you all have a most blessed Easter, a great break from school, work (if possible), and other things. With all teh talk about what Easter means, you've probably heard about new life, resurrection, forgiveness, etc. I see a lot of that at Choir School every year. We've all been made exactly the way God wants us, and I see many truly godly people at Choir School each year, and that one week of the year gives me more hope, excitment, and proof of God than almost anything else in the year. Thank you for being... you! Happy Easter!

Choir School comes to Moncton!

Choir School hit St. George's Moncton (ouch!) for the next service of their Evensong services. What a turnout! The choir was the largest yet, with 52 people coming out. As youc an see in the pictures, lots of youth, and lots of adult voices together (we couldn't fit the men in... that's how big the choir was!). Lots renewed acquaintances, and lots of fun. Thanks you, Alora, for the songs we heard; Heather for running home to get a descant; thank you for Johnny Appleseed to everyone; Samantha for coming (I really did remember you! Honest!), and for the entire choir for making it a wonderful night.
